Joanne works as the Practice Leader for Leadership Learning and Development. She is involved in:
- Leading a team of highly talented and specialised Consultants
- Developing with her team innovative learning solutions to the changing and varied leadership struggles seen in Australian business
- Working across industries and organisations to understand their strategies, then develop and deliver learning solutions that grow their leaders to the required next level.
The work that Joanne does focuses on finding ways to develop leadership skills in an optimally accelerated and engaging way that sparks the learners’ curiosity and passion about leadership excellence. Her solutions are always co-designed with the client to ensure that the learning is full of the organisation’s language, values, and business direction, providing solutions that consistently land in the business.
One of Joanne’s specialty areas is developing Action Learning Projects as part of the learning solutions for clients. Action Learning Projects really help with making the learning ‘stick’, by having participants take the theory and leadership concepts and have to apply them back in the workplace. Usually the smaller projects would run over 12 weeks, and the more involved projects with a high commerciality component would run between 6 and 9 months.
Joanne is passionate about developing people’s potential, and about creating leadership development solutions that have a positive impact on both the individual, their team if they lead one, and on the business area or organisation’s success, financially and brand wise.
Currently Joanne is working on long-term projects with NRMA and Arup, and has worked in sectors including insurance (Calliden and Aon), financial services (Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, HBOS), telco (Optus), I.T (SOCOG and IBM), FMCG (Metcash and Van Leer) and airlines (Qantas).
The project….Creating a culture assessment/change project that ran across 5 diverse businesses that fall under the one overall client brand banner.
The result….A presentation at board level of the results and recommendations that are still being implemented 12 months post-project.
The project….Designing and facilitating a leadership program for senior leaders that addresses skills from team leadership and 1:1 coaching, to developing effective client value propositions.
The result….Client renewal of the program for over 5 years running, plus huge development of leaders and their teams along with participants winning new clients and developing niche market offerings.
