Workshops that work for HR teams

Workshops that work for HR teams

HR teams are under intense pressure to provide outstanding support to their organisations through this period of significant change – at a time when they themselves are facing budget cuts and reduced resources. Harbour Future Leaders has designed four courses to help HR professionals deliver exceptional services to the business. These workshops deliver practical knowledge, skills and tools that that are particularly pertinent in today's economic climate.

HR Strategic alignment & communication

There is intense pressure now for organisations to make sure every activity undertaken is focused on achieving the key business imperatives laid down by the senior leadership team, and this is essential for the HR and L&D function as well.

In this one-day workshop on HR business alignment and communication, we focus on introducing models and tools that enable HR and L&D teams to achieve direct line-of-sight alignment with business objectives, and transform the effectiveness of their communications with the rest of the organisation.

HR leading through change

Is your enterprise dealing with significant change at the moment? Are stressed out managers having to transition their teams, reprioritising, redeploying scarce human resources, remotivating and resetting performance expectations and targets?

Harbour Future Leaders has recently run several one day workshops for our clients designed to help HR professionals coach these managers through change. The day consists of sessions designed to make sure we understand the way leaders and teams deal with change, and the challenges of managing transition. We then revisit the key tenets of coaching, and how HR professionals can coach managers to help them coach their own teams through change.

Creating a successful mentoring program

L&D teams are under pressure to maintain talent development and management strategies on reduced resources, and building mentoring programs has come to the fore recently as one way to leverage internal intellectual property in a cost effective manner.

In this workshop, Joanne Greenlees, HFL’s specialist in the area of mentoring programs, provides participants with a best practice template for establishing a mentoring program. Fresh from two recent significant assignments, Joanne will share with participants the range of different design, scope, and policy settings available to organisations embarking on this activity, and marks out the many pitfalls and dangers to be aware of.

Identifying 'potential' accurately & effectively

If your work involves the selection of candidates for roles within your organisation, or the development of existing employees, then you will know how costly it is when the person selected under-performs in the role and needs to be replaced. Research has proven that it’s difficult to accurately predict how well someone will perform using traditional methods – resumes, interviews, current performance etc.

Fortunately, GeneSys Online is a scientifically reliable tool that enables you to determine the current abilities of key staff members, identify high potential employees (versus high performers), identify skills gaps, and generate development programs for talented employees based on accurate assessment. We offer a three day course to become accredited in administering and interpreting GeneSys psychometric tests.
