About us - Teri Kelly

Director Client Relationships, Victoria

Teri is responsible for both introducing HFL to new clients, and nurturing existing relationships. Her primary focus is to work closely with our clients to ensure our solutions are aligned to their business objectives, and that we exceed expectation in the delivery of our services.

Teri has had substantial experience at senior and executive levels of Human Resources, and has worked in both corporate and consulting environments across three continents. Her experience spans Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, where she has lived and called “home” for the last 25 years.

Teri’s career commenced in Canada in the oil and gas industry. She held the role of National Head of Recruitment for a leading player in the industry and was instrumental in establishing gender diversity through the Graduate Recruitment program.

She later worked for the Chrysler Corporation in London, heading up the Expatriate Relocation function for executives in Europe. It was during this time that she developed a keen appreciation for the challenges associated with assimilating not only professionally, but personally, whilst meeting the expectations of demanding stakeholders.

Teri’s corporate career in Australia includes senior specialist HR roles for Coles-Myer, Westpac, Ansett and SKILLED Group. Within these roles Teri gained a wealth of experience leading teams in the pursuit of various 'best-practice' organisational development initiatives (including those with a focus on: executive and graduate assessment, selection and development; business re-structure, realignment and integration; leadership and talent management).

Specifically at Ansett, Teri established a best-practice executive selection unit for key leadership roles, before being seconded to the executive steering committee responsible for Ansett’s restructure prior to News Limited’s divestment of its share.

Teri transitioned into professional services consulting 10 years ago, holding leadership and general management roles for global firms such as DBM and Lee Hecht Harrison.

She has led and developed high-performing consulting teams and achieved international Master Trainer and Facilitator status within the Asia-Pacific region. She has also worked with numerous iconic Australian and international clients over the years in order to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. Teri believes that the key to sustaining those relationships through changing economic times has been through development of a clear understanding of each business, their people and organisational objectives.

Teri has tertiary education qualifications, and has continued her study and professional development in career counseling, executive coaching and business management. She has a keen interest in generational differences (as the parent of a Gen Y’er) and spends her “spare time” coaching and mentoring young graduates.
